What Was Is | So It Goes
In collaboration with Bruna Mori, What Was Is concerns a dozen razed or fundamentally altered structures
that were lost as a result of time and expediency. This project reflects on the circumstances that might have
followed their continued existence in San Diego and La Jolla, California. In conceiving this commissioned
work about erasure, the La Jolla Historical Society deleted a detailed portion of the catalog text deemed too
graphic.
Funded by Ray and Ellen Merewether, Florence Riford Fund of the San Diego Foundation, IS Architecture.
Additional support by Artworks San Diego, Melesse and Robert Traylor, Seonaid McArthur and Barry Bielinski,
